Hovering Mecha by Mecha-Zone Hovering Mecha by Mecha-Zone
Here is the 3rd and final mecha I created for the Quarto book, "50 robots to draw and paint". This one is more anime inspired. Each of the 3 mechs were shaded differently to show the readers that there are a lot of ways to color something and that you shouldn't be afraid to use "your own style".

I have 5 vehicles from the other Quarto book. I'll probably start posting those next.

hi i'm making a trading card game and i was wondering if i could use this drawing for a card i will give credit where it is deserved and plus its a easy way to spread your art plus you can still use them for your project the card game is called Paragon Galaxy the concept is a galaxy built where all these worlds exist for the perfect galaxy . The galaxy will grow and grow until this perfection is formed

Why don't you go check??? I was hired to create that for the book. Kieth only illustrated a fraction of the designs in the fantasy vehicles. DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU ACUSE SOMEONE OF THEFT!

Ha ha! I didn't know you were the one behind that book!

Nice one, this is. Has a sort of 90's robot toy feel to it.

Hi. I only did some of the art for the book. Christopher Hart was the mastermind.

You might have gotten this question before but I really love the variety of your line thickness, do you ink traditionally or digitally? And if digitally then do you simply in or do you use the Pen tool? Traditionally i only use fineliners and i cant get these beautiful thick and think strokes, and my wacom graphire's sensitivity is to low for nice digital inking.

I ink traditionally with Micron pens. I do not like digital inking because it is too slow and there's no original art to sell for extra $$.

I add the thickness intentionally by tracing over some parts a coupe of times to build up the line.

Should I consider buying that book just to say "Now I'm a REAL fan of David White!", or should I get it because of all the mecha goodness inside? There's a Barnes & Noble very close to my dorm, and I have a severe desire for art time this week... '-_-

no, that won't be necessary. I think I can send you something that will make you a "real" fan though. Why don't you note me your address.

yes, I used to sell a Mecha Zone art book but I sold out a couple of years ago. I'm trying to make another one but it is hard to find the time to make new artwork for it.

Pretty sweet, though what I really love is the coloring on this! An why is it that you dont see as many orange mecha nowadays?

I don't know. People really seem to be conservative with their coloring recently. It's either the traditional red-white-blue combo, or just blue. BORING!
