GRUNTZ Imperator mech by Mecha-Zone GRUNTZ Imperator mech by Mecha-Zone
:star::star::star: UPDATE!!!!
You can now order the mini here... [link]

This is a mecha I designed for Robin Fitton and his tabletop games rule set called GRUNTZ >> [link] <<

LOVE the way it turned out. We intentionally went with a bit of a retro feel. I'm sure it would be really easy to paint the cockpit glass like the rest of the mech armor and there is already a sensor array op top.

Minis will be produced as soon as Robin can find a suitable manufacturer in the UK.

Yes, the sculptor, Orko-One, does everything by hand.

You bet! I posted some of the recent pics from LoTB to my facebook page as well. Loving it! I can't wait to get my 2 minis. I want to buy a bunch of extras too so I can sell them at conventions. Any chance we can work out a discount if I buy 20 or so?

If you want 20 I am sure I can sort something out. I will get in touch with Critical Mass who are making them. Have you got any new work in the pipeline like the last book? Thanks Robin

Hi Robin. the number of minis would depend on the price. I'm not rolling in cash so I have to be careful how much I spend. I would love to make another book but I'm still strapped for cash form the manufacturing of my last book and I don't really have enough material for a new book anyway. It takes a long time to make enough art to fill a whole book. I will make another one eventually, and I hope it will have a lot of new and awesome stuff in it.

there are some pictures of it in modeling progress, but I don't think any of the newer photos are there. No idea why. Maybe Mr. Fitton is very busy?

Excellent! I really want one of these to go on my desk. How tall is this beast? Looks tall enough to make a purty paperweight for those who don't play tabletop.

The model looks creative, and appear to be a mix between a humanized robot and something out of mechwarrior, and your drawing is also an accurate depiction of the model itself, good job :D

Ooooooh Shiny :D

looks perfect for Battletech. Periphery or small manufacturer 55t - 60t mech right there.

How does it scale sizewise with the Iron Wind Metal minis ?

It's big. It is set to the same scale as the Mechwarrior Dark Ages click-base minis. I think it is around 3 inches tall.

oh, I didn't sculpt that, it was sculpted by a guy who uses the handle Orco_One. He's from the US too.

As for the A-10... I've had a couple of offers but never had the time to follow up or make anything happen. I want to do a mini or something, but I also want to do it right.

Wow, Dave - it looks GREAT! I like the more utilitarian design. How large is that model? Is he looking to reproduce it at that size or reduce it?

Of note... I can see where he changed some fine details and proportions from your original sketch... and I like your details better ;)

I think that model is about 3.5" inches tall. Maybe just a tad shorter. It is the actual production size.

I don't mind the detail changes, but I do wish my proportions had been preserved. I did tell them it was OK to beef it up a bit if it looked too scrawny when modeled and I do like the final results so I am happy. It is always hard to appreciate how good these models really are when you see them in such large photos. In real life, this mini will look completely amazing.
