also: how dod you do those greys? considering this is traditional media, i am curious, it looks almost digital. and this particular style would look great on the comics i hopefully will start doing someday.

the line drawing is traditional pen, but the shading is digital.

looks pretty awesome, only detail that bugs me is the balance. look at the SIZE of that cannon. firing that thing would deal HUGE recoil. that much recoil on top of a standing, bipedal structure? not a good idea. not to mention that it has a massive target profile, and a high center of gravity that would make it vulnerable to being rammed sideways.

but heck, chances are everyone would run away soon as they saw this beast incoming. it looks TRULY intimidating, if not terrifying.

Interesting mech. What are it's weapons capabilities? Was this (done) for an RPG manual?

Personally speaking - your own stuff is a lot better - lot more proper in design.

Could teach the peeps who do BT a few pointers.

Hey, thanks. I like my stuff more as well. I do a lot of art for the Battletech people but I have to do what they tell me to do so things don't always look the way I think they should. Oh well, at least I get paid to draw mechs!

I'm afraid I'm too much into BattleTech vs the anime, to me it looks like an artillery carrier... I just see it walking up to a hill, sinking down on those nice folding legs, and setting up to fire from those two huge ammo bins. Center guns would be MachineGuns to keep infantry off you! Whatever "stats" you give to it, nice design.

thanks. I think you pretty much summed up how I imagined the mech would act in combat. It certainly isn't going to outrun anything, that's for sure.

I don't really think about stuff like that so who knows? Depends on the actual scale of the mech I guess. Scale = freakin' huge.

I would say that whole bulky foot is about 3 or 4 people tall.

ok so maybe a 250mm or 300mm

either way its a siege weapon :3

also that makes the missiles impressively large...

Ha, it just occurred to me that the shoulder missile housings look like coleman coolers, which would be fine if they shot giant beer can missiles, but they don't, so it's not cool at all.

Well since I don't drink beer nor any alcohol it's all good for me.. maybe I can set it up to fire off diet pepsi or something...

I'm not advocating alcohol- it was a reference to the Macross: Do you Remember Love movie from way back. You may know it as the original Robotech movie? There was a scene during the final battle where Hikaru's Valkyrie is flying into Bodolza's fortress and the missile pods shoot out some missiles, but they aren't missiles, they're beer cans. The cans flew by so fast that you couldn't tell what they were unless you did a freeze frame. Back then we only had these contraptions called VCRs so freeze framing was jumpy and blurry- it was an easter egg that hard-core mech and anime fans knew about.
