Battletech: Onager by Mecha-Zone Battletech: Onager by Mecha-Zone
An original design by me, made for Battletech TRO 3085. I was heavily art directed on this one but I think it has a few bits that are pretty cool.

Hmm this looks cool and is similar to my "Tyrant" battlemech concept. I envisioned a mech with triple PPCs and a claw. :)

The unclawed arm here looks pretty threatening. If it could reach the ground (or if the poor saps were hiding in trees) that set of serrated claws could also prove pretty effective against infantry, I suppose.

Excellent work David! I do think the Edward Scissor Hand is a little out of place, possibly due to art-direction. Otherwise stunning.

Looks like some Warhammer variant with a claw replacing one of the arms, I do like it.

The "missile rack over vents" thing really rocks, love all the pistons and vires in the joints.

Keep it up!

DFA. He jets up and slams down with the foot and arm talons. At least that was the original idea as described to me. I was told to imagine the hand claws as being the "jaws of life" that emergency crews use to cut people out of wrecked cars.

Unknown, The B-tech writers generally do not give out such info, though technically all mechs are roughly between 8 and 14 meters tall, with assault class mechs being on the higher end, like this guy here.

Nice rendering and for some reason I quite like the simple background (especially the two towers on either side of the page... yeah, I'm weird like that I think). Not sure if the curving shapes of the feet/toes and Rambo-knife fingers really fits with the blockiness of the rest of the body.

Quite interesting design, with the claws and all. Still the most eye catching thing is the left arm cannon, at least in my opinion

I think I get why it's so heavily art directed-- it's a predecessor to the Shrike, Gyrfalcon, and Eyrie that show up in the 32nd century.

BINGO! It had to share some traits with those, but not look too much like them. I drew a completely different version that looked too much like the Shrike and had to start over.

I knew it. The angular, low-tech looking armor and exposed servos and pistons makes them look almost like early prototypes for those three I mentioned. Really clever work here.

at the end of the day, everything about this mech is "my fault" if you want to say it in such a negative way.

Awesome! The detail work is very impressive in the joint areas, the right hand, the feet, and the top, it's very slick! Out of curiosity, what do you mean when you say you were heavily art directed? What areas of the picture were you directed on (if you don't mind my asking)?
