Battletech: Omega by Mecha-Zone Battletech: Omega by Mecha-Zone
Here ya go, folks, the heaviest official mech ever. 150 tons!

I came up with the visual design of this mech for the Battletech book, "Jihad: Final Reckoning"

I really hope they make a miniature of this mech

Awesome drawing!
May I use this in my animated series on YouTube if I give you credit please? It's just what I need for my Juggernaut robot

look up Catalyst Games Labs online. I can't imagine that they would let you use it. I honestly wouldn't even try if I was you.

The mech looks great! However, I would be concerned over copyright issues and a lawsuit from palladium.  The design is very similar to a M.A.C. III mini-monster from their Robotech: Sentinels RPG source book....

There have been numerous attempts in the BattleTech world where they would sometimes "license" (or so we think) designs from other IPs and integrate it into their own world. Unsurprisingly, RoboTech is a common choice for designs (in fact, there was a legal snag regarding the Warhammer design when Mechwarrior Online was being built).

See this:

Interestingly, the Omega doesn't appear to be mentioned anywhere.

I would like to see the minis redesigned to match your artwork, but until the moulds are completely useless they will probably not upgrade the current range.

with your 3D printer could make a rough draft mini of your own.  Would love to have one of THOSE to play with..... especially to deal with rush hour traffic HAHA

Just about anything is possible with a 3D printer if you have the time and motivation. I get asked about this sort of thing quite a bit, specifically my Battletech designs, and I do sometimes consider it. However, I would rather spend the time modeling my own original designs that I own outright so I can sell the printed minis and toys if I want. I have released a few for sale if you are curious. One of them is sort of like a cross between an MW4 Flea and Hellhound. The other is a bot that changes into a tank. You can see them here ---> mechazone.storenvy.com/

Looks like the Stone Rhino a bit, and probably as expensive.

The Omega mech is a wonderful piece of machinery, albeit slow and very difficult to maneuver. In a defensive situation, this thing could probably hold its own on a flank long enough for some sort of support to show up and give it back up to push back the enemies. Its loadout is somewhat under glorious, but for what it does, it does good. Me and a group of friends still continue to play Battletech, and we test ran a Omega with a bit of a different loadout, and if it wasn't for its movement speed, that thing could slaughter a lance easily on its own. (talking medium - heavy range). And most likely take on a pair if not three assaults. This thing is a beast. That is all there is to say about it.

I amuse that there are a few Ullers and/or Fleas hooked on the back, and also is this manned by 3 pilots?

That looks like somone decided that since two is obviously better than one, he simply build a 'Mech that is basically two marauders in one. I'm expecting triple Gauss rifles and dual Ultra AC/10s.

I would put this mech as a Fire support mech and have my medium mechs protect it from the lights. Here's my list of mech i would use to protect it.
1 MadCat MkIII
1 Bushwacker
and
2 BlackHawk

I want an entire Brigade of these . . . they will finally fear meh arty mechs! Though how much weapon tonnage does this thing have available?

So looking at it i'm thinking, eh 3 long toms and replacing the arms with 2 banks of 4 large pulse lasers apiece, rest of room is heatsinks, would be terrifying

Unless you yous the arty cannon version, there is no way in hell you are fitting 3 long toms on a 'mech torso, double crits or no.
You CAN fit 3 thumpers into a 'mech, easy, or even 2 thumpers and a Long Tom. And if you use a CFE, you can fit 3 snipers, even. Of course, then you'd have to deal with the tonnage problems that come from a 300+ rated compact engine and 60 tons of gun...

Who cares? If you are having problems with it and the guns aren't solving it, you are obviously not using enough guns . . .

What can I say, in BT 'moar' guns has always solved any issues against superior opponents, they bring in exceptionally well armed and armored heavies I bring in masses of cheap light units with high damage units, net loss for them, 800 tons they lost vs. 470 of my lighter units. CBill cost was something like 3-1 in my favor, I think I worked well =)

at about a 4 leg mecha base, a base with legs, that can lift up mechs, one on either and repair and move at the same time?

Shame it loks like it rips off the behemoths basic design and pumps it up. Adds 2 more guns. I'm sure some one has noted this already. Good design though. This one looks less open to cockpit hits and more of a pounding even if it was a 100 tonner.

The Omega intentionally looks like the Stone Rhino, with a little King Crab in there too. You know this is an official design with real back-story, right? It's in the book, Jihad Final Reckoning, if you care to investigate further.

There are simply no words for how awesome this mech is! This is by far one of the greatest mech designs I've ever seen! What's even more awesome is the fact that Iron Wind Metals actually made a miniature of it! Which I now have to empty my wallet to get! :D

Who's awesome? You're awesome!

Yes, I was all over the news yesterday. It make me very happy!!! My art director sent me pictures of the mini on Saturday, but I already knew anyway because I had to create some addition sketches a while ago to help the sculptor. I think it looks very good.
