Battletech: Hellstar by Mecha-Zone Battletech: Hellstar by Mecha-Zone
This mech was originally from MechWarrior Dark Ages, but has been integrated into the Battletech universe. This art was made for Battletech TRO 3085.

This is one of my favorite mechs. Besides being a very efficient mech in-game, the artwork really captures the 'mech. It's fast for it's weight. It's weapons array is just leathal and it has more heat sinks than any other 'mech. The artwork really highlights the huge number of heat sink vents, really makes the 'mech look like a bear of a machine and gives it a lumbering feel appropriate for it's speed. Stat-wise it's very comparable to my next favorite 'Mech, the original Behemoth, but trading jump jets for speed and dropping ammunition requirements. I do love the technical readouts. The artwork has really matured.

That's a great image, I might even use it for my wallpaper. The Hellstar was always my favorite mech (except maybe the Jupiter) out of the Mechwarrior WizKids table top and was thrilled to find some battletech figurines.

What's this? A Dark Age design without goofy flanges or wings or claws?

That cockpit looks pretty cool, too, but my eye is drawn to the rock outcropping behind the Mech and to the right.

I`m so glad you were the artist to do this one! Love the thing! Its kind of a throwback to the Marauder and Madcat in many ways for me. Nice to see something in the Dark Age that looks that way!

The Hellstar: when some engineers slammed two Pumas together and threw the results on the battlefield with the instructions, "Go kill stuff."

I just wish this was added to MekTek's mech pack. 60 heat sinks and 4 ERPPCs would just lay waste to everything, and you could use it on normal servers with heat limitations in place.

This is the 4 PPC beast, isnt it??

Its kinda bland, in its original design, but overall more solid than the majority form MWDA.

Needless to say, you gave him a special touch, and the running pose makes it very dynamic. Great work, man ;)

As far as I recall the MWDA model your's looks a lil sleeker and (thus) better.
Its also good to see an assault class mech in a running pose. Cool illustration.

I agree here looks great and love the action pose :) Most the DA stuff was very 'industrial' flavored and had a retro feel to me that was inappropriate. Youve done a great job here with a very blasé base to work with

yeah, I think it is 90 tons? Overall it isn't a bad looking mech, just very plain.

The TRO says 95 tons.;) [link]
Yeah, not really such special looking, but with alot of the MWDA being terribly ugly it really stands out of the crowd. Simple solid design kinda.

Actually, that is based entirely on DA dossiers as of now. TRO has yet to pass moratorium.
Now I doubt the weight will change any, but it's not safe to say that's cited from the TRO yet.

Nope. The TRO 3085 is out since a while and include full stats on the Hellstar as well as some other DA-Mechs...and mostly they differ a lil, cos they had to make them fit to the rules of Classic Battletech.

Let me clarify: Sarna.net, which is what you linked to, can not input anything directly from the TRO yet due to their moratorium policy. Yes, the TRO is out, and it does feature the Hellstar among others, but I was merely pointing out that Sarna may change once the moratorium is over. (Though once again, I doubt it.)
Sorry about that.

Yep, right. I linked to the Sarna-entry anyways, cos it gives the same weight the TRO3085 does and there is no other source on the net yet.
