Battletech: Goshawk by Mecha-Zone Battletech: Goshawk by Mecha-Zone
This mech was originally from MechWarrior Dark Ages, but has been integrated into the Battletech universe. This art was made for Battletech TRO 3085.

I really like the mood of this one!

I have always loved the Right arm on this 'Mech. Yes I know it is weird only liking an arm but just the way that it is designed I love for some reason...

I've always wondered - Is the cockpit on the top, the one that has the 3 eyes or in the center torso

Funny; I don't know! I think the head is just a sensor array.

The head is often in an arbitrary position any way.
Though one thing I know is mechs almost always have their cockpit "windows" inked in black.

So it's entirely possible that this mech has a "hidden" cockpit with the mechwarrior using cameras to see out of. This would not be the first mech to be like this. The Crab is like this as their is no known cockpit location.

Ahhh, I see o: I didn't know mechs could do that
Cool, I was wondering where the cockpit was on the Crab XP
Much thanks man! =)

nice one. created the thing as lp model years ago because I really like the design. your tro art is making it even looking more impressive than the mini is.

I've been trying to figure out what the deal is with its weapons, because the TRO says there are 3 micro pulse lasers on the left arm in addition to the small pulse laser. It also says there's a micro pulse laser in the head. Where are those supposed to be? And why do the small pulse lasers have those big cables coming out of them? They seem more like flamers, especially since the one on the arm is connected to what appear to be fuel tanks....

That is definitely a flamer on its arm. The designers tend to change the weapons after the art is done so the art doesn't match the readout on more than one occasion :(

Actually, I just looked up the design (Thank you, sarna.net.) and this more matches the Goshawk II 2 (which has dual ER Flamers).

They need to get their act together... this is a new level of sloppiness on the part of the writers.

Well at lest I'm not the only one who was thinking this mech has flammers.

I like this version of the Goshawk design, it definitely looks more imposing than the kind of half-baked one done up under the original Project Phoenix. This particular illustration of the Goshawk recalls page 93 from the original TRO 3055 where a Goshawk is marching through smoke and flames. Very nice work.

totally getter Dragun. I didn't make this on up but I am guessing that the original designer is a getter fan.

That thing really looks like it could mess up a guy's day.

Also, it looks like it might be a later model mech. Is it?

well it is in the 3085 tech book so I guess it is about as late as they have shown so far.

The DA Goshawk differs from the 3055 in a few ways but it needed a face lift.

Awesome work.

Maybe, but you did make it look rally badass. Much more than the original, at least. I would say you have a total win with this one, with some credits to the original lineart, of course ;)
