So I was looking at this and noticed something. It looks nothing like the Mercury that supposedly inspired it, but a hell of a lot like Clan Wolverine's Mercury II.

What's up with that?

I have no idea what they wrote in the book, but I was definitely told to make it look like a Mercury II.

That seems odd. Even before that book came out, the first omnimech was always stated to be inspired by the modular weapon mounts on the mercury, and in the book the Coyotl was said to be the logical extension of Star League research. Seems odd they wouldn't ask you to make it look like the original Mercury.

The mercury II is from one of the Jihad books as a Wolverine mech. In universe, the other clans hate everything wolverine.

Whatever the case, this art is fairly good (though I prefer the other omnis from that book). Looks very much like an originating design, solid, but unrefined just like the tech that goes into it.

If i may help out: the principle of OMNI-Mechs, the modularity that makes them so flexibly, not the mech itself, was inspired by the mercury´s weapon mounts. And the first omni was created by the Coyotes!

Wow! This looks awesome. I could use your help on drawing a design I made in Heavy Metal Pro program and I am not that great of a drawer to get the details I want on the mech.

It looks like it's about to tip over, or possibly like it just did a torso twist to keep that from happening. Looks fast as well.

Kinda looks like Robotech a little but it also kinda reminds me of Mechwarrior the games.

Looks awesome!

Reminds me a bit of your Cauldron-Born redesign. I reckon it's that left arm and the way the torso weapons stick up above the rest of the body.

Nice to finally see it large, the one problem with the PDF, how small they made the 'Mech images.

yeah, it kills me to see how small they are . I have absolutely no idea why they do that :(

and its a PDF, even more annoying sticking to some pre-determined format that could easily be converted to a book I guess, rather than giving us full page beauty shots :(

I like the right torso weapon, the barrel coming out of the box. You don't see enough of those in BattleTech! They were a common design in my high school sketches. :D

I like it. Not sure about that manipulator in the right arm, though. How do the arms articulate? Is there enough range of motion to warrant having that thing there?

Otherwise a very nice design, looks wolfish. I thought this might be a Clan Wolf design at first, actually.

Looks like it's pictured in the precise moment at which a well-placed shot from a heavy would knock it on its face.

Also, the center torso seems a bit similar to the more positive qualities of the Bushwacker, while spicing it up a bit with a more detailed design.

Precisely. I had a lot of fun using a Gausszilla to knock things about this size (and, occasionally, much larger) down and out before they could even begin to fight.

I kinda chuckled when I noticed the "scrape-line" on the right elbow (or is that a shoulder? the upper arms are more like wings than anything else so maybe it's just a shoulder with no elbow).

yeah, I don't think there is any real shoulder, just an elbow and forearm.

Sort of similar to your Hellhound..in ways I like. I do like how the torso weapons don't really obscure the pilots prospective too.
