Commissions Q & A

:star:Commission status: CLOSED as of Apr/28/2015
:star:Current # of active Commissions: 0 as of Apr/28/2015

Q: Do I take commissions?
A: Rarely. I only take a few commissions every once in a while.

Q: What are my rates?
A: I have two tiers. Original designs and existing mechs. I charge less to draw an existing mech because it is less work for me. Here are my rates...

Basic Existing Mecha Design
$60.00 USD via paypal
What you get: 1 view, black and white. Based on an already existing mecha design. This is for personal use only so you can't use it for your upcoming product release. You provide me with reference and I add a little bit of my own flair to it. Drawing will be sketchy and the media is my choice (pen, pencil, marker, etc...) I'll mail you the original art. US shipping is included, but international shipping is extra.
Example: SOM prize for Jepray by Mecha-Zone

Pro Existing Mecha Design
$125.00 USD via paypal
What you get: 1 view, super clean lines black and white with basic shading based on an already existing mecha design. You provide me with reference and I add a little bit of my own flair to it. I keep the original art and give you some high quality prints along with a 300 dpi digital file. You can get the original art for an additional $40.

Original Mecha Design
$175.00 USD via paypal
What you get: 1 view, black and white with basic shading based on whatever details and inspiration you provide. I keep the original art and give you some high quality prints along with a 300 dpi digital file. You can get the original art for an additional $40.
Example: Freelance Mech: Bogen 1 by Mecha-Zone

Q: What is your working process?
A: I provide a rough pose sketch after you give me all the reference. You can make comments and then I do the real drawing. You can make final comments after that, but nothing that requires massive re-work.

Q: How to contact me?
A: Please inquire with a note for the sake of privacy.

Microman Data Homage by Mecha-Zone
Microman Data Homage
This is Data, the counterpart robot to Missiler from the classic toy line Microman (Micronauts). Data was a really fun little action figure so I decided to give him a little update, but tried to keep the vintage feel at the same time. Shiny!

Microman Missiler Homage
Practically no one has ever seen the original Missiler action figure from the vintage toy line, Microman aka Micronauts. That's a shame because he's a fun little robot with loads of character. I decided to do some updated designs for Missiler and his counterpart, Data. Hope you like the retro vibe and chrome galore :)

Military Mecha Concept Art by Mecha-Zone
Military Mecha Concept Art
The first of my 31 sketches for this years March of Robots event. I have already modeled most of this mecha in 3D and done some test prints. It will be available in December as a 3D printed toys from my Mecha Zone Storenvy store. Yo may also have seen it in the recently successful Robot Envy Kickstarter.

Original Gundam Head Sketch by Mecha-Zone
Original Gundam Head Sketch
Another sketch from March of Robots 2015. I love so many of the Gundam head designs that I thought it would be fun to design one of my own (and it was fun!).

Metal Storm Fan Art by Mecha-Zone
Metal Storm Fan Art
Possibly my favorite sketch from this year's March of Robots drawing event. A bit of fan art for the mech from the old NES game, Metal Storm. It could control gravity and walk on the ceiling. This mech was once featured on the cover of Nintendo Power Magazine and I fixated over the model as a kid. There was also a rad pull-out poster in the same issue, I think. Probably the same model maker who did the Sophia the III model fro the Blaster Master cover. Good stuff when you're a kid!
